Winners are Grinners at Castle Hill Show 2012

Arcadia takes out top spot at Castle Hill Show
A great start to the year for Arcadia Pony Club taking out the top place at the Castle Hill Show Pony Club Ring.  “The competition was fierce this year”, said Castle Hill Show organizer, Catherine Egan.   “We had 71 competitors from 9 Pony Clubs in the Pony Club ring with a great spread across all age groups and skills”.  It was great to have such a strong turnout from the local clubs such as Dural, Glenorie, Hills District as well as Arcadia.  The rivalry between clubs was strong but great sportsmanship was displayed by all competitors regards of Club and final placings.”

“Riding in specific Pony Club competitions in a wider environment such as Castle Hill Show gives the children the best of both worlds with their competitive experiences, says Leanne Davies, Chief Instructor of Arcadia.  “The classes are specific to Pony Club, encourage quality riding skills but the children also have to learn to cope with distractions from other rings or from unfamiliar items such as crowds and sideshow rides.  Great experiences for them to have that help develop strong horsemanship skiills”.

The Castle Hill Show is a great warm up for our members that are attending the upcoming Royal.  In 2012 Arcadia had the winning Team of Four and great successes in the Pair of Riders and Individual Rider classes.  Arcadia also dominated the sporting classes on the day with some of the State Champions from Arcadia setting the pace from the outset.
